Parenting doesn’t come with a map.
That’s why there’s a compass.

When the advice gets loud, find what matters.

There is no single right way to parent — but when you're tired, overwhelmed and surrounded by conflicting advice, it can certainly feel as though there should be.

The Parenting Compass was created to make things clearer.

Here you'll find evidence-informed guidance translated into practical, everyday parenting. Not another rigid method to follow, but information that helps you understand what may be happening, recognise what your child is communicating, and respond with confidence.

Because good support shouldn't tell you exactly which path to take. It should help you find your own.

Evidence, without the overwhelm

Good information should make parenting feel clearer, not more complicated.

The Parenting Compass draws on evidence, child development and professional experience, translating it into something useful for real family life.

That means explaining the why, not simply giving you another list of things you “should” be doing.

Because evidence can guide us. Your child, your family and your circumstances help determine what that guidance looks like in practice.

Behind The Parenting Compass

Professional knowledge

Registered Nurse, Midwife and Child Health Nurse, with experience spanning pregnancy, birth, postnatal care, infant feeding, sleep and settling, child development and family support.

Over the years, I’ve worked alongside families from pregnancy through to the early years — supporting them through the questions, challenges and enormous changes that come with becoming and raising a family.

Real-life perspective

I'm also a mum of four. I know that parenting in real life rarely looks like the textbook — and that even with knowledge and experience, there are moments when you wonder what on earth you're doing.

That perspective matters here. Evidence is important, but so is recognising the family, the child and the real life happening around it.

What would I know?

Quite a bit, as it turns out. But never enough to tell another parent there is only one right way.

The Parenting Compass isn't about telling you how to parent. It's about helping you understand the evidence, understand your child and feel confident making decisions for your own family.
